And the winner is…Mrs. Stephanie Steele. Eustis High School’s 2016-17 Teacher of the Year! We sat down and talked to Mrs. Steele about what motivated her to be teacher, what she’d like to share with new teachers and what we could do to improve EHS.

  1. What made you want to be a teacher?
    • When I was a student in school there was a teacher that helped me get through high school, and I would never have made it if it weren’t for them, I want to help kids the way I was helped.
  2. Is there any advice you would give to new teachers?
    • The best advice I could give would be to form connections with your students.
  3. How would you make connections as a teacher?
    • Teaching isn’t really a skill, it’s more like a natural talent. Teachers are able to make these connections.
  4. What improvements could be made at EHS?
    • We need to get students interested in what they learn, if they are interested they’ll be more engaged.
